A climbing wall is an artificial replica of a rock. The construction must be made in such a way that you can climb it without problems. The climbing walls that can be found outdoors are called climbing gardens and not climbing walls. For every climbing wall or similar climbing facilities there is a corresponding legal basis. This means that they are covered by DIN EN 12572. DIN EN 12572 was established in July 2007. These principles determine, for example, how high the load-bearing capacity of the climbing walls is. In addition, such a climbing wall must be secured in such a way that no climber can climb unattended and without a safety device. This can prevent serious accidents. There are a large number of climbing routes on each climbing wall. The handles attached to the climbing wall are marked in different colours. Each color corresponds to a different route. However, there are different levels of difficulty on each climbing wall. The handles are well mounted on the climbing walls with screws and must be maintained at regular intervals by trained personnel to reduce the risk of injury and falls. However, due to the screw technology it is possible to change or exchange handles. This means that new and individual routes can be created within a short period of time. Climbing walls are already assembled and self-made.
