این شرکت در سال ۱۹۵۹ تاسیس شد و مقر آن در توکیو ژاپن است. در ابتدا SMC شرکتی بود که به طور عمده عناصر فیلتر "فیلتر صنعتی فلز سینتر" را توسط متالورژی پودر تولید می کرد و پس از چندین دهه تلاش و نوآوری مداوم ، محصولات SMC به تدریج غنی شده و با تکیه بر کیفیت عالی ، کاربران بی شماری را به خود جلب کرده است. امروز ، SMC به یک رهبر جهانی در صنعت پنوماتیک تبدیل شده است. نام اولیه این شرکت "SMC" (به معنی "شرکت فلزی سینتر شده") به دلیل سالها شهرت در جهان مورد استفاده قرار گرفته است و به یک نام جهانی یکپارچه تبدیل شده است.
