機械板金は機械産業の母体である。台湾の機械産業は、1980年当時、世界的に生産されていた工作機械は「NC」であった。当時の工作機械にとって、機械板金は基本的な応用範囲に限られていた。
21世紀に入り、インターネットの時代となり、環境保護、人文配慮、作業者の安全、見栄えの要求など、世界的な問題意識が高まる中、台湾ではCNC機械が盛んに発展しており、工作機械メーカーは "機械板金 "に対する様々な要求や視点を得ることができるようになりました。
