Sobre nós
Continuar a ler he company of WILESCO – its name goes back to the
founder Mr. Wilhelm Schröder – was foundet in 1912. Right at the beginning the
company manufactured aluminium cutlery and carving sets. In fact, parts of this
production, for instance the big ladles and skimmers, are still featured in
today’s range of WILESCO products. At the beginning of the 20th
century WILESCO started manufacturing aluminium doll’s cutlery and other kinds
of household toys. This range was extremely profitable during the worldwide
economic crisis in the twenties, when WILESCO received many large orders from
the United States.
The turnover of doll’s aluminium cutlery slowly decreased, so WILESCO decided
to alter the range slightly and add other items in the field of foundry and die
casting production.
In addition to this, the company manufactures many
different kinds of semi-finished die cast products in aluminium and zinc. Most
of the parts are used in the automobile and electrical industries, although
some of them, such as flywheels, rods etc. are also used in the manufacture of
the steam engines.
In 1950 WILESCO started manufacturing stationary steam
engines and accessories. The steam engines succeeded very quickly in gaining
their own market share. In 1966 WILESCO added the famous roller “Old-Smoky” to
its range and in 1987, for the 75th anniversary of the company, the
steamdriven fire engine completed the range. It is adapted from a model of
MAGIRUS from 1904. With these particular technical developments, WILESCO
succeeded in entering further into the toy and hobby market. Today the steam
engine sales account for about 50 % of WILESCO’s turnover. Today WILESCO is the
the most important manufacturer of toy steam engines worldwide. You see from
this short summary, that our products vary tremendously. This versatility has
always been an important safeguard against economic fluctuations. We kindly ask
you to continue trusting in the WILESCO range in the future. The term “quality
and safety” does not only stand for WILESCO Steam Engines but also for the
general policy of our company.
