Since the company was founded in 1977 in Hiddenhausen (NRW), the family-run SOKRATHERM GmbH has been developing, building and supplying compact combined heat and power units (CHP). Around 2,000 compact CHP modules with 50 kW to 1 MW of electrical power generate electricity and heat in a wide variety of properties worldwide using the highly efficient and environmentally friendly principle of combined heat and power (CHP).
The CHP plants manufactured in Nordhausen (Thuringia) produce electricity and heat from fuels such as natural gas, biomethane, propane gas, sewage gas or biogas, usually with an overall efficiency of over 90%. With the appropriate accessories, they can also generate, for example, emergency power, steam, cooling or heat thermal oil.
All CHP compact modules from the ISO 9001 certified production are intensively tested in a factory test run before delivery and have comprehensive internet-based remote monitoring. Particularly prominent examples of applications are Niederegger Marzipan in Lübeck (GG 402 with absorption chiller), the children's hospital in Buenos Aires (GG 50), the local heating network Flex-KWK in Oberhausen (GG 530 with electric boiler), the Früh Kölsch brewery in Cologne (GG 198 with steam generator) and the "energy bunker" in Hamburg (GG 530 + GG 237).
Core features of the compact cogeneration units are the compact and maintenance-friendly design, the high efficiency and the reliable plant operation. Or in short: compact, efficient, reliable.
