Deutscher Medien Verlag GmbH (DMV) is pleased that you are visiting our website. Data protection and data security when using our website are very important to us. We therefore undertake to protect your privacy and to treat your data confidentially. We would like to inform you at this point which of your personal data we collect in relation to your visit to our website and for what purposes the data are used. Since changes in the law or to our internal processes may make it necessary to amend this Privacy Statement, we ask you to read this Privacy Statement regularly.

All information published by DMV on its website is for information purposes only. Commercial use by third parties is not permitted.

What is personal data?

Personal data is information that can be used to find out personal or factual information about you. Information with which we cannot (or only with a disproportionate effort) establish a reference to your person, e.g. by pseudonymization or anonymization of the information, is not personal data.

Which data are collected and processed by us?

You can visit our website without giving any personal information. We only store access data without personal reference such as the name of your Internet service provider, the website from which you visit us or the name of the requested file. These data are evaluated solely for the purpose of improving our offer and do not allow any inference to you as a person.

Certain services of the DMV website may require the collection and processing of personal data. This is only done if you agree to the validity of our data protection declaration and a corresponding use of your data. We use your personal data for the following purposes:

User account
Personal data is collected when you voluntarily provide it to us when you open a user account.

User actions
Data on personal actions are collected when you make changes to data on the DMV website. This serves to detect and prevent abuse.

Newsletter
When registering for the newsletter, your e-mail address will be used for own advertising purposes until you unsubscribe from the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Contact persons
For certain services (company entry, job advertisements, trade fair calendar, press news, etc.) of the DMV website, a contact person in a company is required. This personal data is only collected if you provide it to us voluntarily.


Contact form
Personal data is collected if you voluntarily provide it to us when you submit a contact form. By submitting the contact form you agree that your data will be used to process your request.

Information and revocation of consent

DMV will only store your data for as long as permitted by law. Upon your request, we will be happy to inform you at any time whether and which of your data we have stored. If, despite our efforts to ensure that your personal data is correct and up to date, we store incorrect data on you, we will correct this immediately upon your request. If you wish to delete the stored data, this deletion will also take place immediately upon your request. If deletion is not possible for legal reasons, the respective data will be blocked instead.

You may also revoke your consent to the processing and storage of your personal data by DMV at any time. An informal letter or an e-mail is sufficient for a revocation:

Security measures to protect the data stored by us

If we collect personal data, we store it on specially protected servers in Germany or in the European Union. Access to it is only possible for a few specially authorized persons who are involved in technical, commercial or editorial support. In order to avoid loss or misuse of the data, we take extensive technical and operational safety precautions which are regularly checked and adapted to technical progress. However, we would like to point out that due to the structure of the Internet, it is possible that data protection regulations and the above-mentioned security measures may not be observed by third parties or institutions outside our area of responsibility. In particular, unencrypted data can be read by third parties – even if this is done by e-mail. We have no technical influence on this. It is the responsibility of the user to protect the data provided by him against misuse by encryption or in any other way.

Use of cookies

We use "cookies" (small files with configuration information). These are used in particular to make your visit to our website easier and more convenient. The Notepad function creates a cookie for the user with the ID of the saved company / jobs / fairs / keyword, among other things. This information is only exchanged between the page and the user's browser. It is also possible to use our website without cookies. Most browsers are pre-set to automatically accept cookies. However, you can deactivate the storage of cookies or set your browser so that it informs you before cookies are stored.

Passing on to third parties

We adhere to the principle of assigned data usage and collect, process and store your personal data only for the purposes for which you have provided us. Your personal data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent, unless this is necessary for the execution of the contract. Transfer of personal data to authorized state authorities and institutions only takes place when following statutory information obligations or if we are obligated to divulge information due to a court order. Our employees have been obliged by us to confidentiality and to comply with the data protection regulations.

To carry out the contract, it is necessary to pass on your data to the credit institution commissioned with the payment. When paying by credit card via HeidelPay or by direct debit via HeidelPay or via DebitCard via HeidelPay, we will transfer your payment data as part of the payment process to Heidelberger Payment GmbH, Vangerowstr. 18, D-69115 Heidelberg, Germany.

Credit assessment

If we have made payment or provided service in advance, for example when purchasing on account, we collect a credit report based on mathematical and statistical procedures from SCHUFA Holding AG, Kormoranweg 5, 65201 Wiesbaden, Germany, to safeguard our legitimate interests. For this purpose, we pass on the personal data required for a credit check to SCHUFA Holding AG and use the information received on the statistical probability of a default for a balanced decision on the establishment, implementation or termination of the contractual relationship. The creditworthiness information can contain probability values (SCORE values) which are calculated on the basis of scientifically recognized mathematical-statistical methods and which include address data in their calculation. Your concerns with regard to data protection are taken into account at all times in accordance with the legal provisions.

Transfers to third countries

If we process data in a third country (i.e. outside the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA)) or if this occurs in the context of the use of third-party services or disclosure or transfer of data to third parties, this only takes place if it occurs for the fulfillment of our (pre)contractual obligations, on the basis of your consent, on the basis of a legal obligation or on the basis of our legitimate interests. Subject to legal or contractual permissions, we process or leave the data in a third country only if the special requirements of Art. 44 et seq. GDPR. This means, for example, that processing is carried out on the basis of special guarantees, such as the officially recognized determination of a data protection level corresponding to the EU or compliance with officially recognized special contractual obligations.

Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority
