A cable is a composite of wires surrounded by insulation. It is used to link electrical appliances. A computer or instrumental cable in general is an umbrella term for various types of cables with different tasks: for example, to connect the computer via a plug to the mains supply or to connect other devices used to this cable.

So there are different types of computer cables. Those who serve the power to the computer as a terminal, are referred to as primary power cable. There are also power cables that can connect a computer to a printer and thus communication, ie allowing the exchange of data.

In addition, there is also a cable that serves as both a power supply and data exchange. An example of this is the USB cable, which allows you to charge about an MP3 player.

Computer cables are connected via so-called interfaces to the computer or the device with which it wants to communicate. In practical terms the jacks are that which you can plug in the cable. These interfaces can be designed differently, to guarantee optimal use. Thus, the ordinary USB port on the computer is different from the much smaller designed interface of a mobile phone that can be connected via cable. The two ends of the connecting cable thus have different shape and size.

In addition to the cables that connect a computer to other devices, there are also those that allow communication with other computers, so-called network cable. About distribution network, the computer can be connected therewith. It will allow the access to a group of other network users, ie it permits communicate between computers or other devices or allows an Internet connection.

Computer cables are therefore essential for the exchange of data, the device supply or access to networks. They have a variety of applications and are indispensible in the private and in the business sector.
