e-tan provides the best plastic enclosure solutions to customers which can help clients with keeping components protected in any environment. Our plastic enclosures are good at ingress protection, all series of enclosures are IP68 by testing with IEC 60529.

Durability: UV Resistant Plastic

e-tan’s outdoor enclosures are made of UV resistant polycarbonate(PC). After 1000 hours of weathering tests (ISO 4892-2), color-difference of opaque and transparent PC are⊿E9.07 and⊿E5.80 respectively. Charpy impact test (ISO 179) and flexural strength test (ISO 178) are over 84% retention.

Flammability is an important factor as well. Our PC material is UL94-V0 which means the burning stops within 10 seconds on a vertical specimen; drips of particles allowed as long as they are not inflamed. Here is the classifications from lowest (Least flame-retardant) to highest (Most flame-retardant):
