Das Familienunternehmen Rehnen wurde Ende der Fünfziger Jahre in Papenburg im Emsland gegründet. Gegenstand des Unternehmens war der Handel mit Holzbearbeitungsmaschinen aller Art und später der Bau von Kantenschleifmaschinen. 1992 wurde die Fertigung vom Handelsunternehmen getrennt und vom Sohn Heinz-Hermann Rehnen (Maschinenbaumeister) übernommen, der alle Maschinenausführungen selbst entwickelte.
Neben den Standardmaschinen für die Holz- und Metallbearbeitung werden auch individuelle Lösungen als Sonderanfertigungen aus dem Hause Rehnen geliefert.
Ein weiteres Standbein ist 1999 zu den Holzbearbeitungsmaschinen hinzugekommen: der Handel und Verkauf von Baumaschinen. Neben einer eigenen Instandsetzungswerkstatt steht auch ein Fuhrpark zur Verfügung, der es erlaubt, auch Schwertransporte deutschlandweit und in die Nachbarländer durchzuführen.
