Glazing is the process of completely covering an object, such as a building facade, in glass. In this context, the term glass is to be understood very broadly. In everyday use, window glass, drinking glasses and, for example, the glass of incandescent lamps are titled with it. To glaze something usually means to perform a certain protective function, for example a heat, sound or optical insulation. There are a wide variety of glass colours, so that a correspondingly opaque glass shade is also possible. Furthermore, numerous properties of the glass can be changed during production by adding special materials.
