1910年、ベルリンにDeutsch-Englische-Quarzschmelze GmbHとして設立された。当時まだ若く、隆盛を誇っていた化学工業のさまざまな用途に向けた溶融シリカ製品を主に製造していた。
1957年にマインツに移転し、1965年までTSL - Thermal Syndicate Ltd.（イギリス）とJenaer Glaswerke Schott+Genossen（ドイツ）の共同事業として運営された。
1965年にはTSLグループの完全子会社となり、本社をヴィースバーデンに移し、TQS（Thermal Quarz-Schmelze GmbH）という社名で事業を開始しました。
この頃からヴィースバーデンでは、赤外線用石英ランプと光学用石英ガラスを使った部品の継続的な開発に主眼が置かれるようになった。お客様との密接な連携は常に重要視していました。こうして、多くの新しい開発や改良が、長い年月をかけて共に成功を収めることができたのです。
1988年、TSLグループ全体がフランスのサンゴバングループに買収された。
2000年以降は、ヴィースバーデンを拠点とするサンゴバン・クォーツGmbH、ヴィースバーデンという名称で運営されています。
2009年、マネジメント・バイアウトにより、現在でもよく知られているロゴマーク「TQS – Technical Quartz Solutions GmbH 」のもと、法的に独立した枠組みを持つことができました。
TQS®の長い歴史の最後のステップは、2015年の初めに、フランクフルトの輸出会社VS Technical Supplies GmbHがTQS®の株式の100％を取得したときに行われました。
現在は、Volker Schmidt（フォルカー・シュミット）氏が経営に携わっています。
