Our company, established in 1917 to manufacture bicycle chains, shifted to the manufacture of industrial chains in anticipation of the development of the machinery industry. Since then, we have contributed to the evolution of chain technology, expanded the scope of our business from machine parts to automated systems, and continued to develop our business with a global perspective.

iwis is one of the leading supplier of precision roller and conveyor chains for industrial applications. With its comprehensive product range for all drives and conveying applications for machine and plant engineering, material handling systems, or for example the packaging, printing and food industries, iwis can offer the best chain solution. The full iwis program comprises precision and high-performance roller chains, conveyor chains, maintenance-free and corrosion-resistant chains, accumulation chains, special-purpose conveyor chains, leaf chains, flat-top chains and modular belts for industrial applications, chains and sprockets for agricultural machinery and timing drives for the automotive industry.
Established in 1916, iwis is a family-run business which today employs more than 1000 people. In addition to production sites in Germany (Munich, Landsberg, Wilnsdorf and Sontra) and in the Czech Republic, in China and in the USA, iwis has subsidiaries in various countries in Europe and overseas, including Canada, England, France, Hong Kong, India, Italy, South Korea, South Africa and Switzerland. Altogether, the iwis Group has 45 business locations throughout the world.
