With the establishment of a design office for special machinery, Dr. Ing. Heinrich Collin laid the foundation for the company Dr. Collin GmbH. Many things have been changing since then.
But the enthusiasm and the sense of innovation of the early days are still driving the company’s business operations and its position in the market. Even after thirty years, COLLIN® is not satisfied with just ”being there“.

W. u. H. Fernholz GmbH & Co. KG werd in 1963 opgericht door de broers Werner en Helmut Fernholz. De productie van kunststofartikelen begon met slechts één spuitgietmachine. Later werd het thermovormprocédé toegevoegd. Met het besluit om de folie voor thermogevormde produkten zelf te vervaardigen, werd achtereenvolgens het derde produktieprocédé, de extrusie, in het leven geroepen. Dit werd gevolgd door de invoering van direct printing, etikettering en IML.
In 1972 werd de eerste productiehal in gebruik genomen op de huidige locatie van het industrieterrein Ihne in Meinerzhagen. In de daaropvolgende jaren werden de productie- en opslagruimten voortdurend uitgebreid.
In 2002 namen Frank en Uwe Fernholz, de twee zonen van de gebroeders Werner en Helmut Fernholz, de leiding van het bedrijf over.
In 2006 is de silofaciliteit voor grondstoffen en daarmee de opslagcapaciteit voor grondstoffen in Meinerzhagen fors uitgebreid.
In 2009 werd met de ingebruikname van de filmfabriek in Schkopau een tweede, efficiënte productielocatie opgericht met ca. 20 werknemers en ultramoderne extrusielijnen voor PS, PP en meerlagige films.
Vandaag spitst onze productie zich toe op folies en bekers voor de zuivel- en voedingsindustrie. Wij analyseren voortdurend nieuwe materialen en verwerkingsmethoden.
