Innovations for more than 150 years
The company was founded in 1863 in Mannheim, Germany, as a brickyard and succeeded in developing its first pathbreaking innovation, chemical stoneware, in 1888. Numerous new developments followed. Among other things, the company started in the mid of the past century processing plastics and combined modern and traditional materials when producing chemical devices and facilities.
The following years were characterised by the expansion in the core business and the opening up of more and more new business segments. As Deutsche Steinzeug and later as Friedrichsfeld GmbH, the company, which has been operating under the name FRIATEC AG since 1993, continuously developed to become an internationally active, diversified company.
Spectrum of innovative solutions
As such, FRIATEC AG today offers a spectrum of innovative solutions for many industries, e.g. jointing technology for pipe systems, special pumps for aggressive, volatile or explosive media, but also ceramic components which are used in laboratory and electrical engineering but also in medical engineering. With its sophisticated solutions, FRIATEC AG is not only among the most well-known and well-established companies in the metropolitan region Rhine-Neckar but is also one of the global market leaders of its industry.
Partner of a powerful community
Since 2003, FRIATEC AG has been a member of the ALIAXIS group of companies with headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. ALIAXIS is the worldwide largest producer of plastic pipe systems for the construction industry, the industry and utilities.

TQS - Uma empresa jovem com uma longa tradição
Em 1910, a empresa foi fundada em Berlim como Deutsch-Englische-Quarzschmelze GmbH. A empresa produzia principalmente produtos de sílica fundida para várias aplicações na indústria química, que era ainda jovem e próspera na altura.
Em 1957, a empresa mudou-se para Mainz e foi aí gerida como uma empresa conjunta da TSL - Thermal Syndicate Ltd. (Inglaterra) e Jenaer Glaswerke Schott+Genossen (Alemanha) até 1965.
Em 1965 - entretanto uma subsidiária integral do Grupo TSL - a empresa mudou a sua sede para Wiesbaden e passou a operar sob o nome de TQS - Thermal Quarz-Schmelze GmbH.
A partir desta altura, o foco principal em Wiesbaden foi o desenvolvimento contínuo de radiadores infravermelhos de quartzo e componentes feitos de vidro óptico de quartzo. Foi sempre dada grande importância a uma estreita cooperação com os clientes. Muitos novos desenvolvimentos e melhorias poderiam, assim, ser levados a cabo em conjunto ao longo dos anos.
Em 1988, todo o Grupo TSL foi adquirido pelo Grupo francês Saint-Gobain.
A partir de 2000, a empresa com sede em Wiesbaden operava sob o nome de Saint-Gobain Quartz GmbH, Wiesbaden.
Em 2009, no decurso de uma compra de gestão, a empresa pôde dotar-se de um quadro juridicamente independente sob o ainda conhecido logótipo TQS – Technical Quartz Solutions GmbH -.
O último passo na longa história da TQS® teve lugar no início de 2015, quando a empresa de exportação VS Technical Supplies GmbH, com sede em Frankfurt, adquiriu 100 por cento das acções da TQS®.
Hoje, o Sr. Volker Schmidt é responsável pela gestão.

for general lab applications. In addition, a wide range of Plates, Reservoirs, Sealing
Foils, and Special Consumables are available for our wide range of equipment.

We also offer various Antibodies, Antigens, Proteins and ELISA Kits for research and manufacturing purposes; Human and Animal Whole Blood, Plasma, Sera and Complement preserved Sera; Substrates and Reagents for ELISA, IHC, Blotting, and Microarray; along with Products to stabilize RNA and DNA samples.
