The term agriculture refers to the management of land for the production of raw materials. The raw materials obtained are used for food, energy supply or also for the production of textiles and the like. On the one hand, production is direct, which means that the fields are planted first. After harvesting, the raw material obtained, for example grain, cotton, tea, etc., can be processed and used immediately.On the other hand, there is also indirect use as a form of agriculture. Harvest yields are mainly used to feed animals, and thus again for food production. Grassland becomes hay, silage or pasture feed to feed cattle, sheep and goats. These animals are used to produce milk and meat. The fields are used for growing cereals and maize for fattening cattle or chickens. Agriculture can be found all over the world. Depending on the nature of the soil and the climatic conditions, people have specialised in the most diverse variants over the course of time. While the majority of the population used to work in this profession, the number of farmers has fallen rapidly in all continents in recent decades.
