Within a pressurized piping system, different volume flows often occur, which can damage or even destroy the system. The reason is often that the pressure-causing medium, e.g. a pump at overpressure, can either not be controlled at all or only controlled with a time delay. This means that the pump continues to build up pressure even if the pressure is too high. This will either damage the pump or even cause the whole system to "burst", which is often accompanied by high amounts of damage or even injuries to persons. Individual overflow valves to protect pumps
Overflow valves, also called bypass valves or control valves, are often used to protect a system or vessel. The valve has the function of releasing a so-called bypass if the pressure inside the pipes is too high and thereby reducing the pressure inside the system. The medium now flowing through the opened overflow valve is then transferred via the bypass back into the pump flow and from now on forms its own circuit. The medium now flows through the bypass valve until the pressure drops due to another opening in the system, causing the overflow valve to close.

The base of our current valve range was established by extremely robust and reliable float valves. As early as 1917 Jean Bergner’s sophisticated construction was patented and as a consequence he founded the company Berluto in 1920.
