Flanged bearing housing units create simple possibilities to support a rotating shaft. These are ready-to-install units. A fastening element and the integrated bearing form the flange bearing, whereby the bearing is a plain bushing or a standardized rolling bearing.Flange bearings are often used in plant construction and mechanical engineering. They can be attached extremely easily to even surfaces of the companion structures, with a through hole for the respective shaft. Flange bearings are ideally suited as spare parts, as in the event of repairs the procurement time is very short and they are available in a wide variety of designs. This concerns in particular the mounting as well as the materials of the bearing and housing, the seals and the temperature resistance. To protect the shaft ends, flange bearings can be fitted with special covers.Je depending on the area of application of the flange bearings, they can also be ordered for high temperatures. Accordingly, bearings and bearing seals are prepared. Flange bearings with a polymer bearing are also suitable for maintenance-free dry operation. This also applies to the requirements for insensitivity to soiling. Flange bearings with a spherical outer surface could be used to adjust misalignment of a tensioned shaft. If extremely coarse seating tolerances are a fact or the press fit of the press-fit bearing as the only axial securing is too small, flange bearings are the best solution.
