Machines are devices that carry out automatically and necessarily a task defined by curves or contact disks, punch cards , calculators, or other prescried programmes. Their use is recommended in all cases where people are burdened with monotonous work, the amount of information exceeds their responsiveness and detection capability, where they are unable to manage, in the production of consistently high quality goods or where they feel endangered. Accordingly there is, for example, alarm systems and materials handling systems, steering, gauges and testing machines, as well as computing, switching, safety and stamp vending machines. In semi-automatics only partial processes take place automatically.
