Actuators also known as converters belong to th electromechanical construction elements and they convert both electricity as well as voltage in different physical sizes into different forms of energy. This happens by means of electronical signals.

Exams for the energy types produced are sound, pressure and heat. Likewise movement, torque or light can be produced. That means that the actuator changes the electrical energy to non-electrical energy. The conversion process can on the one hand be electromagnetic or piezoelectric or on the other hand capacitive. In addition actuators are used both measurement technology as well as in control technology in order to open and close valves. On this occasion the mainly the control signal converts the mechanical work.
