Requirements Temperature monitoring is one of the most important measuring tasks in the food industry. In order to ensure a constant process quality, the temperature sensors used must be calibrated regularly. This is time consuming and expensive. Implementation The temperature sensors of the TAD design use two different sensor elements that monitor each other in the process. This ensures that any drift of the sensor is reliably detected. Furthermore, if one element fails, the process can be continued with the second measuring element (backup function). Customer benefits The two high-precision and long-term stable measuring elements of the TAD temperature sensor create safety and quality in the process. The 4...20 mA signal, which is proportional to temperature, allows processing via any standard control system. For easy further processing, the signal is scalable for the relevant temperature range. The diagnostic output warns when "Drift warning limit reached" or "Drift alarm limit reached". ifm electronic guarantees reliable drift detection within the set drift limits for a period of 5 years. The integrated ASEPTOFLEX adapter thread allows hygienic adaptation to all common process adapters. The completely closed housing guarantees protection class IP 69 K. The chosen design reduces dirt deposits and is easy to clean all around.
