Zakłady Górniczo-Metalowe „Zębiec” at Zębiec, S.A. is a company with over 50 year tradition.
The enterprise was founded in 1954 as “Mines and Enrichment Plants for Ferruginous Sands under Construction” and its main scope of activities was mining and enrichment of ferruginous sands. Commenced in the years 1954-1956, the project was completed in 1965 and the company’s name was changed to Zakłady Górniczo-Hutnicze „Zębiec.
Since then the company started the production of so called, “zelgruda” – a semi-product for metallurgical engineering. The company comprised the strip mine “Zębiec”, enrichment plant with washer, rotary furnaces and electromagnetic separation. The production of “zelgruda” was continued till the year 1970.
Starting from 1971, the production of a new line of products was initiated and in 1972 the company changed its name to Zakłady Górniczo-Metalowe „Zębiec”. In the 1990s the company underwent a comprehensive restructuring process and afterwards Zakłady Górniczo-Metalowe „Zębiec” at Zębiec, S.A. was established.
Throughout those years, ever changing economic conditions enforced changes in our adopted strategy. At present the company’s strategic activities are based on a few assumptions. We concentrate our goals on the customer’s satisfaction, total commitment of our staff, permanent quality improvement and bringing to perfection the organisation of work.
Many years’ activity of the company, continuous improvement of production, implementation of modern technologies and as well expertise and commitment of the staff resulted in the implementation of the Quality System and obtainment of Certificate PN-ISO 9002 issued by PCBC in 1999 and Certificate of Integrated Quality and Environment Management System as per PN-ISO 9001 and PN-ISO 14001 in 2002 and Integrated Quality, Environment and Work Safety Management System as per PN-ISO 9001, PN-ISO 14001 and PN-N 18001 in 2005. The outcome of the adopted management system is the presence of ZGM Zebiec S.A. in the group of remunerative companies, achieving better and better financial and economic results.

Full body The widest range of EC approved axles from 500 kg to 30 tons with agricultural and industrial brakes. The first agricultural brakes provided with variable thickness brake linings starting from axles with a carrying capacity of 5 tons. This choice helps blocks last longer and reduces the environmental impact when used products must be disposed of. ABS and self-calibrating levers for traveling safely and reliably.
Tubular body, Black Bull range Ensuring journey speed, flexible use, duration and reduced maintenance is the basic goal behind the development of the new Black Bull trailer axle series. The axle body weight is reduced by 50%, and its hallow profile is made up of high-yield steel, ideal for both industrial and agricultural use.
The spindle has been designed to ensure a perfect jointing with the axle body and to optimize welding, with no stress discontinuity, an excellent weight-resistance ratio and a homogeneous behaviour in all working conditions. It fits the standard equipment of industrial vehicles and this further enhances its versatility of use. For this reason Black Bull is a universal product: for agricultural machines, public works vehicles and special vehicles.
