The first vehicle under the name Multicar left the Ludwigsfelde plant in 1958. At first ankle joints vehicles were built and only a little later the Multicar as we know it today came into being. It was a two-seater and could travel at a speed of 60 km/h on the road. In the small transport sector, the vehicle was to be found almost everywhere in the former GDR and a variety of transport tasks were taken over.In the context of the reunification, there was a small drop in production. Thanks to the good work of the developers and the commitment of the employees, the Multicar came onto the market with improved functionality and the plant was even in the black, as the vehicle was in great demand. The German Bundeswehr was also interested in the product and bought several vehicles.The use of the Multicar was enormously varied due to the various accessories. With its tipping device on three sides, bulk material can be unloaded individually according to the conditions on site. Several types of snow shovels can be mounted on the front during the winter months. A smaller shield can be used to clear footpaths and the low weight of these vehicles means there is no risk of damage to the pavement. After winter, the front attachment is changed and the Multicar is converted into a sweeper to remove the spreading material.
