Liquid is an aggregate state, which through the application of cold and heat can application. With water this condition is changed to ice at less than 0 degrees celsius and to steam above 100 degrees celsius.

On earth there is a multitude of liquids, the majority of which is in the form of water. Around 71% of our planet consists of water and an overwhelming amount of this can be found in the oceans. As drinking water reservoir, sea water can hardly be used due to the high amount of salt. Desalination systems can acquire drinking water from the sea, the amount however is insignificantly small.

Most of the drinking water can be found in the rivers, as here it is drinkable fresh water. About 3% of the earth's water can be used as drinking water and can correspondingly processed. Some countries have a lot of difficulty in obtaining fresh water and when the annual rainfall is too low, there are serious problems for the population.

In central europe and some other states the drama of providing water to the population is not seen. It is simply in the apartment when the tap is turned and the cold water flows. Only through a burst water pipe can the people experience how diffiult life can be without water.
