Detergents are used for washing and cleaning textiles. They are usually used in conjunction with a washing machine to ensure thorough cleaning. Detergents are usually available in powder form, but gel-like and liquid detergents are also quite common and nothing unusual. Different types of detergents are used, depending on requirements. The so-called all-purpose detergent is suitable for most textiles and can also be used in all temperature ranges, while mild detergents are not suitable for washing at temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius and should therefore not be used there if possible. The enzymes in the mild detergent are destroyed at too high a temperature and thus lose their effect. However, mild detergents are very well suited for hand washing. They also contain no optical brighteners or bleach. Special detergents for certain fabrics such as wool, silk etc. are also unsuitable for high temperatures and should therefore be used deliberately. Temperature is just as important as the choice of fabric when choosing the right detergent. This should be strictly observed in every washing process so that the best possible results can be achieved and the textiles can be cleaned properly. When choosing the right detergent, it is therefore essential to know what type of detergent you are buying.
