In the Bergisches Land we have a high stock of old half-timbered houses. This also includes many historical buildings. Time and again, houses of this type are handed down to the next generation. Here there is a considerable need for repair and maintenance of the special kind. Due to a lack of foresighted expertise and poor coordination of the individual remediation steps, which almost always have to be considered as a whole, consequential damage often occurs and the hoped-for result does not materialize. In addition to doors and windows, the floor construction very often needs to be reworked or renewed. Ceilings are almost always a problem.
