Usually the interior walls of apartments, offices, hotels and similar facilities are plastered and then wallpapered or painted. This is the easiest way to turn a simple wall into an attractive surface. While wallpapers, plasters and colours need to be renewed or refreshed, the wall covering, on the other hand, is installed for a longer, even permanent view. Today we still marvel at century-old bäflungen in castles and villas, which are the precursors of today's materials. They are not only used for design purposes. A wood-panelled wall makes every room cosy, insulates noise and is warm. You can even hide a few construction defects behind it. In the past, for example, colours were used which penetrated the walls themselves and which appear again under every coat of paint and wallpaper. The same applies to rooms where smoking has been intensive for years. The treated nicotine residues are only invisible for a short time. These unpleasant phenomena are then elegant, decorative and permanently concealed. Even walls, on which for many reasons simply no plaster holds, disappear under a decorative wall covering of panels or wood. It is sufficient to anchor a slat construction to the wall and fasten the individual elements either with clips or screws. Matching end strips form a closed picture, behind which additional thermal insulation can be hidden.
