Door construction refers to the development, planning, manufacture and installation of door elements and all associated components and the application of the necessary work steps. Doors in general are systems for closing or opening inlets in walls. They thus enable access to enclosed rooms, such as in buildings. Doors can be locked with a key. Each lock and key has a different shape and only people with the right key can unlock the door. Other very important functions of a door are its protective functions such as protection against radiation, smoke or sound. Doors also provide insulation against external influences such as low or high temperatures. These effects, especially with fire doors, are achieved by special workings in the doors. In general, a door consists of a movable element, the door leaf, the door frame and the frame. The door leaf is attached to the frame. However, there are also sliding doors which are guided by guides on the top and bottom.
