Door seals fulfil various functions. They are usually made of silicone or other rubbery, very good sealing and durable, as well as flexible materials. All these factors are very important for good thermal insulation, i.e. sealing. These seals are usually used at the points of transition between door and frame. Usually, the greatest heat loss occurs there when the air escapes through the spaces in between. This is reduced or completely avoided by flexible seals, as these adapt exactly to the space between door and frame and therefore no more air can escape.
