Garage doors allow access to garages or workshops after opening. Garage doors are differentiated into five different types. In an up-and-over door, the lower edge of the door swings out, whereby the upper edge only moves on one plane. These gates can be used in underground car parks for parking bays. The sectional door consists of several individual door leaf sections. The sections are guided on rollers in rails and can be moved under the ceiling or to the side, depending on the design of the door. With the overhead door, the one-piece door does not swing out. This type of construction is often used in England, Spain and Italy. In Germany, the door is used exclusively in collective garage door areas. The roller shutter works just like a roller blind. The garage door closed with a roller shutter is rolled upwards when opened. The resulting noise and high wear are disadvantageous for use as garage doors. The last type of gate is the swing gate or swing gate. The version can be purchased as a single or double-leaf door. Garage doors can be opened and closed with the aid of electrically driven garage door drives.
