Profiled sheets have become indispensable in today's world of construction. This is not to say that the classic construction with stones, bricks or wood is no longer used or advised against. However, trapezoidal sheet metal has advantages that are only just becoming apparent in commercial applications.
Trapezoidal sheet metal and all the other sheet metal profiles such as roofing tile profile, Siegen pantile, high profile or corrugated sheet metal play out their great advantage in processing. Depending on their suitability, all these profiled sheets can be several metres long, some profiles even over 20 metres long (keyword: self-supporting).
If the substructure matches (full formwork), the cantilevering properties are also no longer quite as relevant, so that the entire length is covered in just one operation (from the eaves to the ridge). Otherwise the statics play an important role. Snow loads and wind loads must also be taken into account here!
The profile is then fixed to the substructure using roofing screws, the overlaps are protected from moisture penetration with sealing tape (supported by water grooves in certain profiles) and in this way an entire roof is covered or a facade is constructed in a very short time. Do this with roof tiles or the wall with stones.
