The natural building material brick consists of the elements water, fire, earth and air. The gently extracted clay is fed into production via a box coater. The raw material is coarsely comminuted and then ground to a grain size of about 0.8 millimeters in a roughing or fine rolling mill. If special product properties are required, additional porosifying substances such as sawdust are added. This creates an infinite number of small pores necessary for thermal insulation after the firing process. The finished mixture is transported via conveyor belts to the sump house, where it is temporarily stored to compensate for moisture. The raw bricks are placed fully automatically on drying trolleys and dried for one to three days at forty to one hundred degrees Celsius. The dried bricks are then placed on heat-resistant tunnel kiln cars and fired at around 950 degrees Celsius. brick is a solid building material and guarantees wear-resistant building materials, so that brick houses have a service life of about one hundred years. Bricks show the smallest changes in shape of all building materials, so that inside a brick house neither mould nor wood buck or woodworm have a chance. In addition, the consistent construction quality requires extremely low maintenance costs. In addition, brick exterior walls offer optimum sound and fire protection and, thanks to effective thermal insulation, they easily meet low-energy house standards.
