Vibrating chutes for the vertical transport of bulk material, e.g. from silos, serve as a component of conveying technology. This refers to fine- and coarse-grained materials up to the size of gravel or boulders. The physical principle of material transport through vibration chutes is based on mass inertia. Electric motors cause the feed chute to vibrate (oscillate) with intentional unbalance. These controlled vibrations in the conveying direction spin the material a small distance. During the backward movement of the channel, the material remains and is flung on again by the next forward movement. The speed of this movement is determined by the frequency of the vibrations. Vibration channels are very robust and not susceptible to interference. They work reliably even at high pressure from the silo above. While conveyor belts or screws are sensitive to congestion and can block the conveying paths, vibration chutes eliminate such congestion themselves due to their functional principle.Another advantage of this principle is its resistance to wear. As a rule, the channels are lined with replaceable plates, which wear out due to abrasion by the conveying material and can be easily replaced.
