We produce the chamfers (welding edges) in most cases using a welding edge former (nibbling machine). When chamfering with our beveller we can realize chamfer angles between 20° - 60° and a chamfer depth of up to 20mm.
The welding edge is cut out of the material by means of a pusher steel mounted on an eccentric shaft. As the material is removed by a uniform up and down movement, the so-called nibbling, a grooved pattern is created on the welding edge. This pattern plays a rather insignificant role in the preparation of the welding seam, as the material is melted during welding.
