Hydroforming is also known as internal high pressure forming. This forming process is rather new. Here a workpiece, for example a tube, is expanded by internal pressure and simultaneously compressed by axial force. The corresponding object is now located in a closed tool before the actual expansion and takes on the shape of the tool engraving, caused by the immense internal pressure. The internal pressure is up to 3000 bar. This is passed on by a water-oil emulsion, i.e. transferred. The axial force is applied via two sealing stamps at the respective ends of the pipe. A complex unit is formed by the complex process of forming, which consists of the sections internal pressure, axial force, workpiece geometry and existing material data. Assessing this data is generally very difficult. Therefore, before the design, calculation and layout of hydroforming processes, an exact predetermination of the corresponding parameters for forming is necessary. These can be quickly visualized with the help of computer simulations. It is possible to calculate slightly variable influences and to implement them in a cost-saving manner. The hydroforming process is particularly used for pipes with variable diameters for T-pieces, such as fittings and water taps. Among other things, this process makes it possible to achieve high stripes. This plays a particularly important role in the automotive industry. This process makes A-pillars so rigid that they can withstand enormous loads.
