Chain rollers are a special design of support rollers, conceived specifically for use in fork lift trucks. Chain rollers redirect the lifting chain on the fork lift truck and are usually mounted directly on the lifting cylinder. They are highly loaded and transfer very large loads in radial directions at low speeds.
High shock loads require a balanced concept with regard to the bearing assembly and outer ring wall strength. Materials and heat treatment of the rings are designed specifically for these requirements.
Besides the high strength a good seal against dirt entering from the outside and loss of grease from inside the bearing is very important for durability.
METER manufactures chain rollers with a diameter of up to 300 mm. Cylindrical roller bearings or angular ball bearings are the most common designs.
