Axial pistons are pistons which operate or cause along a machine an axis force so that this force on the working medium flows through in the direction of the axis rotation of the machine. The piston itself is a cylindrical machine component. These move in turn up and down in a cylinder. The piston transforms pressure into kinetic energy. This will for example drive the machine. Furthermore, this system can also work in reverse, through movement a piston can in turn generate pressure, such as in piston pumps.
