Areas of Operations
VARTA AG produces and markets a comprehensive battery portfolio, ranging from microbatteries, household batteries, energy storage systems to customer-specific battery solutions for a wide range of applications. As the parent company of the Group, it operates in the business segments “Lithium-Ion Solutions & Microbatteries" and "Household Batteries”.
The Lithium-Ion Solutions & Microbatteries segment focuses on the OEM business for microbatteries, the lithium-ion cell business and also on intelligent, modular battery pack solutions for various industrial applications. Through intensive research and development, VARTA sets global standards in the microbattery sector and is a recognised innovation leader in the important growth markets of lithium-ion technology and hearing aid batteries.
The Household Batteries segment comprises the battery business for end customers, including household batteries, rechargeable batteries, chargers, portable power (power banks) and lights as well as energy storage devices.
The VARTA AG Group currently employs around 4,800 people. With five production and manufacturing facilities in Europe and Asia, as well as distribution centres in Asia, Europe and the USA, VARTA AG's operating subsidiaries are currently active in over 75 countries worldwide.Current company presentation of VARTA AG

China Lithium Battery Technology Co., Ltd. (CALB) is a high- tech enterprise, which specializes in R&D, production, sales and market application development of lithium batteries & battery materials, BMS, energy storage batteries and related integrated products, dedicated to providing global customers with complete product solutions and impeccable life cycle services.
CALB was established in 2007. Its products cover two systems-- NCM and lithium- ion phosphate systems, which have successively passed the authoritative quality system certification such as IATF16949, and have received international certifications such as CE，UL, TUV, and RoHS. We have established three major production bases in Changzhou, Luoyang and Xiamen. Meanwhile, CALB owns a professional R&D institution, which is committed to the R&D and application of key technologies of power batteries, and building an internationally leading new energy R&D center. At present, our planned annual production capacity is 200GWh+, being the world's leading power battery manufacturer and strategic supplier of global excellent automobile companies.
CALB promotes technology- led, innovation- driven development, with an excellent R&D system, and its R&D strength ranks among the leading levels in the industry. CALB has established scientific research platforms such as national- level enterprise technology center, postdoctoral workstation, and built four major innovative technology platforms of "Advanced Materials- Advanced Battery- Advanced Power Supply- Advanced Manufacturing". CALB has successively undertaken dozens of national- level technology R&D and industrialization projects, including 3 projects of national key R&D program and 6 national projects of "863 Program", and is one of the only two "national high- tech industry standardization pilot" power battery enterprises in China.
