Time switches are used for a wide variety of purposes and are available in a wide range of price segments. The best known area of application for the citizens is probably the staircase light in the house. Pressing a button switches the light on in the dark and after a certain period of time the lighting switches off again automatically. The duration of the lighting can be varied and depends on the number of floors. If mainly elderly people live in the building in question, the time of lighting the staircase can be extended. Modern time switches flash very briefly 30 seconds before switching off. On the next floor, the light button must be pressed again and the time until switching off begins to run again. This flashing should signal the citizens in the stairwell that the lights will go out in a few seconds. This way it is prevented that the residents of the house suddenly stand on half a floor in the dark, and can thus still reach the next button. This way accidents should be prevented.The time function can also be switched off. It may be necessary to carry out certain work in the stairwell for a longer period of time and there is no need to constantly press the light switch. When the work is finished, the timer returns to normal mode.
