The gas is drawn in through an opening diaphragm or a valve and compressed by the piston movement in the re-sealed cylinder in the second work step. The resulting overpressure is blown into a storage tank. A non-return valve prevents the pressure from escaping from this tank. The piston compressor is suitable for generating low to medium working pressures of up to 20 bar.
