This transport component is used in industry and trade. If industrially manufactured products have to be lifted all day in production lines, many manufacturers use air-operated hoists. Unlike manual cable winches, levers or manually operated ratchets, air hoists lift material automatically by means of chains and hooks, whereby the control options can be adapted to the respective workplace in many ways. Air hoists are relatively light and are mounted either rigidly or on transport rails using a transport trolley. They lift weights from a few kilograms up to 100 tons and are equipped with overload safety devices.In terms of occupational safety, the use of this assembly proves to be safe and ergonomically sensible for the worker, especially in continuous use. The operator must be trained in the theory and practice of air hoists. Components, boxes or cans can be lifted with these devices in the chemical industry, shipyards, the automotive industry or the food industry. The transport of humans with this machine is prohibited. An application by means of a transport rail also allows an application between warehouses and fire- or explosion-endangered areas for device versions with a higher protection class. One application example is paint production. Protected compressed air hoists can move empty cans from the goods delivery to the working areas of the filling plant in this area. However, the hoist must be designed for the hazardous gases prevailing in the filling area.
