The word "wine" is derived from the Latin "Vinum". It is a drink made from the juice of red or white grapes that is fermented to produce alcohol. The grapes are planted in areas all over the world - where the sun shines there are grapes. These grapes grow in oblong panicles on the vine in so-called vineyards. In summer, with dry wines, or in late summer, for sweet wines, the grapes are harvested. You squeeze their juice. This used to be done with the feet in large wooden vats, today there are also special machines for this, as for grape harvesting. As there are red and white grape varieties, red wine and white wines are also produced. The mixed form is the rose wines, which have the colour of shiny pink. There are also the subspecies of sparkling wines. This includes sparkling wine and champagne, which is one of the most expensive fermented grape juices. These sparkling wines, unlike the wine, are fermented a second time and thus obtain their specific taste and carbonic acid. Wine is probably already around 8000 years old and has played a major role not only economically but also socially since then. For example, it is still a ritual drink in the Catholic Mass. There he depicts the blood of Christ and is drunk by the priest.
