The production is carried out with the most modern machines and according to the regulations of the European Union. The olives for Jordan Olive Oil come exclusively from own cultivation and from families from the mountainous region of the island of Lesbos. They are harvested by hand and processed in a natural way. Possible clouding and a sometimes occurring sediment are characteristics of a natural and high-quality processing. In this way we ensure that the valuable fat-accompanying substances and not least the fine fruity taste are preserved in the olive oil.
We have always produced organically. From now on, Jordan Olive Oil is also available with organic certification. Due to the special locations of the certified plots, Jordan Olive Oil Organic has a more robust taste and gives the otherwise mild Jordan Olive Oil a wilder character.

The company
In 1920, Bernhard and Anna Schell from Lichtenau in Baden founded the company in their hometown. They produced edible oils from local oilseeds, and sold the oils only on site, virtually straight from the press.
The foundation stone for the present company headquarters was laid.
When the son-in-law Peter Reith joined the company, a modern screw press was purchased in 1949, which significantly improved the quality and quantity of the pressed oils. In 1961, the company joined the Association of German Oil Mills. As a result, the production of edible oil was moved more and more to Mannheim, as they have an efficient refining plant there.
Our company is ISO 22000 certified.
Today, Helmut Reith and his wife Brigitte manage B. Schell Speiseöle GmbH, which deals exclusively with the bottling and trading of various edible oils and frying fats. The refined edible oil is delivered in tankers and immediately filled into a wide variety of containers ranging from household sizes to bulk containers of 1000 liters. Two large filling lines are installed for this purpose - with a maximum filling capacity of 80,000 liters per day.
This size of the plant enables us to respond to the individual tasks of our customers and to carry out special filling - even on a smaller scale.
By the way: We deliver all our products exclusively with our own fleet of vehicles. This guarantees you flexible and reliable delivery.

Edible oils are oils used in the production and preparation of human foodstuffs. These oils are obtained from the seeds and fruits of suitable plants. Usually the oil is pressed out of the corresponding components of the plant. Oils that are produced without the addition of heat (cold-pressed or native) are more valuable than refined oils because they contain more flavours and nutrients due to their gentle production. In addition, these oils contain fewer impurities such as shell particles and the like, which gives them advantages in terms of both taste and appearance. Most edible oils are clear, have a yellow to greenish colour and a liquid-oily consistency at room temperature. The taste varies depending on the method of production and the plant from which the oil was made. For example, nut oils, such as peanut oil or walnut oil, usually have a more nutty taste, while oils from fruits usually taste a little more fruity (for example apricot kernel oil or grape seed oil).Food oils should always be stored in dark and cool places to ensure a long shelf life and not destroy the nutrients and vitamins they contain.Food oils have numerous applications, including cooking, steaming, baking and frying, but also cold as dressing for salads and raw vegetables.
