Sandwich panels - What is that actually?

The visible side is usually a sheet metal profile, for the wall almost smooth and only finely structured, for the roof similar to trapezoidal sheet metal. Like the classic trapezoidal sheets, this top shell is galvanized and coated in a RAL colour polyester. This is followed by the insulating layer, often PUR (polyurethane) which has a high insulating effect, or if fire protection regulations require it, mineral wool. The lower shell can also be sheet metal again, often in RSL (rear side protective lacquer) or also in colour coating, according to the customer's wishes. For the cost-conscious, there is also the somewhat cheaper version with an aluminium lamination.
The thickness of the sandwich panels - here we speak of core thickness - is an important characteristic for the insulation values, and also plays a major role in pricing. Therefore a consultation exactly according to your requirements is an important factor to ensure that you get exactly what you need and do not pay too much. Statics must also be taken into account, because the greater the insulation, the thicker the core and the higher the weight.
There are also differences in the type of mounting. There is the so-called concealed fortification - interesting in the area of the facade - but also open fortification, like on the roof. On the roof, calottes are usually used for technically correct fastening and it is also strongly recommended to use stainless steel screws according to building law. Correspondingly long screws that are rust-free with high quality calottes in the corresponding RAL colour of the sandwich panels, you certainly pay considerably more than for trapezoidal sheets. It is therefore important to consider what purpose the buildings have to serve and what is the most suitable profiled sheet metal.

The sandwich panels are ideally suited for the construction industry. They are perfect for use as a roof panel as well as for the wall. What's more, they save costs, weight and time, because insulated panels can be installed immediately. With the sandwich panels (insulated panels) you can have stable and well insulated walls and roofs.
Nowadays, sandwich panel layers are used in many different ways, for example for residential buildings, lightweight construction halls, industrial halls or simply as sound insulation.
