General description:
In European and Asian market, lock cylinder is most important parts for the security of door.
Lock cylinder with keys usually according to EN1303 standard.
EN 1303 is the EU CE certification standard for cylinder locks in building hardware, numbered EN 1303:2015, entitled Building hardware - Cylinders - Requirements and test methods.
EN1303 standard uses an 8-digit coding system (e.g.: 16-0-C6D) to quickly identify performance metrics and applications.
Performance requirements:
Strength:
The strength of the lock core and the original key is regulated to ensure that they can withstand certain external forces without damage, ensuring normal use and safety.
Safety:
Based on the design requirements, 6 key related security levels and 5 simulated attack performance test levels are established to evaluate the ability of the lock core to resist security threats such as illegal opening and prying.
Durability:
3 durability levels are specified, measured by different test cycles, such as level 4 for 25,000 cycles, level 5 for 50,000 cycles, and level 6 for 100,000 cycles, to ensure that the lock core maintains good performance in long-term use.
Corrosion resistance:
Referring to the requirements of EN 1670 on the corrosion resistance of building hardware, 4 corrosion resistance levels are determined to ensure that the lock core has a certain corrosion resistance under different environmental conditions and extend its service life.
Fire resistance:
3 fire resistance levels are established, and in addition to the performance tests required by the standard, fire performance tests are also performed to determine the suitability of the lock cylinder for use in fire or smoke door assemblies. However, the fire resistance assessment of Class 1 doors is beyond the scope of this standard.
Temperature adaptability:
This includes operating tests within a certain temperature range, generally -20℃ to +80℃, to ensure that the lock cylinder can work properly in different ambient temperatures.
