Telescopic guides are used when long strokes and short installation space are required. The stroke or the extension length can be several times the installation length. Telescopic guides are a special design of ball-bearing linear guides. Telescopic guides are widely used. Light and simple designs can be found in furniture and electrical cabinets. Special vehicle construction, construction machinery and railway technology are further large fields of application. In general mechanical engineering telescopic guides are often found in safety doors, in feed devices, in automation and many other areas.The load capacity and the extension ratio are the basic distinguishing features of telescopic guides. The extension ratio results from the extension length, i.e. the stroke to the installation length of the telescopic guide. Three pull-out ratios are common.Partial extensionsThe partial pull-out consists of two guide rails plus balls and ball cage. The extension length is 50%-70% of the installation length. This is not actually a telescopic guide.full extension slidesThe full extension consists of three guide rails plus balls and ball cage. The extension length corresponds to 100% of the installation length. This is the most frequently used variant.Over-extensionsThe over-extension consists of four, five or even six guide rails plus balls and ball cage. The extension length reaches 100% to 200% of the installation length.
