In response to the issue of high energy consumption in data center cooling systems, various energy-saving solutions have been attempted in the industry, among which the Indirect Evaporative Cooling (IEC) system is one of the most promising cooling solutions.
The indirect evaporative cooling system mainly includes three important components: plate heat exchanger, spray system and compressor cooling system. During the cooling process, the air to be processed inside the data center is cooled through a plate heat exchange device. Firstly, the outdoor air is used for cooling, while the spray system sprays the heat from the outdoor air, which evaporates in the plate heat exchange device. By using evaporation to absorb heat, the air temperature to be processed is lowered, allowing it to cool the circulating air inside the computer room to the maximum extent possible. Throughout the entire processing, indoor air is a closed loop system, while outdoor air is an open loop system. Outdoor air does not enter the interior of the data center, thus preventing moisture and pollutants from entering the data center. Due to the fact that the processed air does not come into direct contact with water, its moisture content remains unchanged, achieving equal humidity cooling of the air.
