A computer game is a programme, which offers in some form entertainment for one or more people. Every game is an interactive medium in that the device reacts to user input. The history of computer games is almost as old as the history of the computer itself. Ping Pong merchandized as the first game. Two white stripes on the left or right of the screen and a point as a ball - that was the entirety of the graphics. The goal of the game was to hit the ball so that the opponent does not catch it, before it reaches the sidewall. For a long time games were the domain of handheld games and game consoles such as the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System). Today the games market is just as important as the film industry with as many sales. The Internet and playing against opponents from around the world have established the computer as a gaming platform.
