Gas flares burn exhaust gases, combustible gaseous waste materials at the outlet end of a pipe. At the upper end is the so-called torch head. This carries a burner with ignition device. These technical equipment can be found primarily in refineries and other chemical plants. The so-called flaring of gases is used at locations where other uses are not possible according to the current state of the art. For example, substances that are not produced in solid form or in large quantities in industrial plants are flared off.
