The dark field illumination of the brand LUMIMAX® is preferably used for the inspection of surfaces due to its radially flat irradiating light. With the principle of dark field illumination, the light falls sideways at an angle or flat onto the surface to be inspected, i.e. all the light is first deflected away by the camera. This means that the field of vision remains dark as it is not directly illuminated. Scratches, sloping edges, depressions, embossing or even elevations, however, interfere with the beam path of the light. The light is then directed towards the camera at these deviations, so that criteria that stand out from the test surface are displayed brightly. The dark field luminaires thus produce high contrast sharpness and strong shadows, which clearly indicate defects and surface contours as bright features on a dark background. This is why LUMIMAX® LED dark field illumination is particularly suitable for surface inspection and edge inspection. Further application possibilities are identification of equipment, type and position as well as inspection for e.g. scratches, blowholes etc. In addition, all dark field lighting works at a small working distance. LED darkfield lights are available for permanent operation or for flash operation. The brightness of the LEDs can be adjusted either internally via a potentiometer or externally via a VC analog input. With the flashed variants of the dark field illumination, the triggering of the flash times is carried out either via the PLC or TTL mode. All dark field lights of the brand LUMIMAX® are robust industrial versions with an aluminium housing and connection cables suitable for drag chains.The LED dark field lights are available in three different sizes. The smallest DFL50 dark field ring light has 60 SMD LEDs and an inner diameter of 50 mm. The medium type DFL100 has 162 SMD LEDs and an internal diameter of 100 mm. The largest illumination in the dark field series, the DFL150 dark field penetrating light with an internal diameter of 150 mm, is equipped with 240 SMD LEDs. All three dark field lights are available in the light colours red, blue, green and white and have an integrated diffuser.
