A complete warehouse equipment usually includes several systems, which can be extended depending on the utilization. This includes racks, technical equipment and, if the products are large enough, also lift trucks, forklifts and crane systems. Starting with racks, pallet racking has established itself in large retail and industrial warehouses. This is particularly suitable for the storage of goods that are stacked on pallets. Such racking systems are not only accessible by lifting vehicles, but can also be extended as required. The design of these shelving systems allows the available space to be increased both in length and depth. A special form of the pallet rack is the shear-controlled flow rack. This variant is required for the storage of perishable goods and is therefore used in the food sector. The roller conveyors of the flow rack have a slight inclination, so that the goods slide to the end of the rack (dispatch) controlled by gravity. Lightweight racks are used in smaller companies and in retail. These are usually made of aluminium and are limited in their load-bearing capacity. Therefore, they are more suitable for small populations. Technical systems are also part of the storage equipment. Usually they contain a computer and a scanner, with which incoming and outgoing goods are controlled and stored.
